About Us
BG&S Peening and Consulting, a disabled veteran-owned small business , was founded August 14, 2002, and opened doors September 1, 2003. FAA Repair Station authorization was completed September 6, 2005 and accreditation under AS 9003 February 06 2007.
Bryon Ater, owner of BG&S Peening and Consulting, began his career with the US Air Force as an Aircraft/Engine Mechanic in 1972. While stationed at Hahn AFB Germany Bryon trained to obtain his Airframe and Power plant license and continued his training in Scottsdale AZ. This allowed Bryon to continue his career in the aviation industry going from Garret Research (now Honeywell) to Allegheny Airlines (now US Airways). Bryon spent the next 23 years starting as a mechanic and progressing to Production Supervisor/Upgrade Manager of US Airways engine overhaul facility until March 2001.
BG&S Peening and Consulting is an FAA Repair Station (#YG6R145Y) in surface enhancement ranging from shot peening to aircraft wash! BG&S also provides minor repair and overhaul capabilities per our operations specification and CCL list. BG&S was audited and accredited by the Air Force MTTAP Team in September 2007 and Bell Helicopter QPS101 and BPS4409 November 2007.

BG&S Peening and Consulting's core business is in Shot Peening, Glass Bead Peen and Flapper Peening. We also provide wing forming, laser peening, abrasive blast cleaning and Ultra sonic cleaning for air filters on the E 190, 737 aircraft.

We work with all our customers and their engineering group thru testing, system development, and training. This cooperation between business's provides a unique bond with our customers and their staff. As an example, Bryon has worked with a company the past few years where the out come has produced a positive procedure for the medical industry, applying Anti-Microbial onto a metal surface killing over 300,000 bacteria in less than an hour.
